Properly preparing your Formula Pro Advanced for storage helps keep it clean and ready for future use. A thorough clean and descale before storing is essential to remove any formula residue and moisture, which helps to prevent mould and maintain the performance of your machine over time.

Preparing your Formula Pro Advanced for storage
To keep your Formula Pro Advanced in great condition when storing for long periods of time, it’s very important to clean it thoroughly.
- Remove the powder container parts (funnel & cover, drip tray & bottle grate, and water tank) from the base. Check out this handy guide detailing all of the components of your machine.
- Using a clean, damp cloth, wipe the base and make sure all formula residue is removed. Dry the base completely.
- Empty the powder container and dispose of any remaining formula. Wash all powder container parts, allow them to air dry fully, then reassemble and reinstall them in the machine.
- Complete the monthly descaling instructions, steps 1–7 only.
- Unplug the machine. Remove the funnel &cover, and water tank, and wash them in warm soap water. Once fully washed & rinsed, allow them to air dry thoroughly and reinstall.
Draining before storage
After descaling your Formula Pro Advanced, follow these steps to drain and dry the machine for storage.
Empty the Water Tank: Ensure that you completely empty the water tank to remove any remaining water.
Remove Excess Water: Remove the water tank and hold down the white cross valve on the back of the machine, holding it upside over a sink to allow excess water to drain. You can watch this quick video guide for further help.
Moisture: Your machine is ready for storage. it is normal for some residual moisture to remain however, this moisture will naturally evaporate over time.
To store your machine, place it back in its box or cover it with a bag to keep it clean and dust-free and ensure it’s stored out of direct sunlight and away from any heat source.
