Don't worry about this - the large majority of the time, this is just a fitting error rather than a fault. All you need to do is tighten up your connectors.
Take a look at this video for help. Friction tape and friction pads can be used interchangeably.
You'll see that, once the connector has been pulled tight, you need to twist the connector bolt clockwise to secure the connector.
