Regular cleaning and care of your Formula Pro Advanced help ensure it continues to perform optimally. Below, you’ll find some simple tips and helpful guidance on how to properly clean, descale, and maintain your machine, keeping it working at its best!
Monthly Descaling
Descaling your Formula Pro Advanced once a month is important to help prevent mineral buildup on the internal water heater and keep your machine running smoothly. For the easiest descaling experience, we recommend using Baby Brezza Universal Descaling Tablets which can be purchased here. You can also watch a handy step-by-step video tutorial on our YouTube channel.
If you prefer, you can also use the traditional vinegar and water method, simply follow the steps below:
- Remove the water tank, empty it, and refill with 600ml of distilled white vinegar (suitable for cleaning) and 600ml of distilled water.
- Place the water tank back onto the machine and put a cup larger than 300ml under the funnel.
- Use the ML button to select 300ml, then press the Water Only button to dispense.
- Empty the cup, place it back under the funnel, and press the Water Only button again to dispense another 300ml.
- Unplug the machine, remove and empty the water tank, and allow the machine to sit for 4 hours.
- Wash and rinse the water tank, then fill it to the MAX line with cooled, boiled water and place it back on the machine.
- Plug the machine back in. Place a cup under the funnel and run a 300ml cycle using the Water Only button. Dispose of the water and repeat this process until the entire tank has been flushed through. When the Low Water indicator illuminates, rinsing is complete.
- Refill the water tank with cooled, boiled water and you can continue using the machine as normal.
Funnel & Cover Set
To ensure accurate dispensing and cleanliness, it’s important to clean the funnel every 4 bottles. Formula can collect inside the funnel, and if it isn’t cleaned regularly, buildup will occur, affecting the machine’s ability to dispense the correct amount of formula.
Your Formula Pro Advanced will notify you on the display screen when the funnel needs to be cleaned. Please follow the steps below to clean the funnel & cover set:
- Remove the funnel and funnel cover by pulling it out and down. NOTE: You do not need to remove the powder container or any powder container parts for this cleaning routine
- Wash the funnel and funnel cover with hot, soapy water, then rinse thoroughly. Allow both parts to air dry completely before reassembling. To continue using your Formula Pro Advanced while they're drying, we recommend purchasing an additional Funnel Set here.
- Using a dry paper towel or a soft, clean cloth, gently wipe the powder-dispensing hole on the underside of the powder container. Be sure to remove any spilled formula or milk from the machine.

Preventing Mould Buildup
As with any food preparation or food storage product, proper cleaning and maintenance are essential to keeping your Formula Pro Advanced clean, hygienic and in a good working condition. In addition to the above routine cleaning steps, we recommend taking care when pouring formula into the powder container.
After adding formula, check the area around the water tank to ensure no powder has spilled. If any residue is present, wipe it away using a damp cloth. Before reassembling the powder container, confirm that all components are completely dry to avoid any formula clumping.
When the machine is cleaned, dried, and stored correctly, mould should not develop. Additional storage tips and best practices can be found here.
